2007 Emily Couric Lecturer Announced

Peter A. Banks, MD, FACG, Professor of Medicine and director of the Clinical Gastroenterology Service at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, will deliver the second annual Emily Couric Lecture on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the Annual Meeting of the American College of Gastroenterology in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Banks will speak on the topic, “Pancreatic Cancer: present understanding and future prospects.” As an expert in this field, Dr. Banks’ presentation will offer attendees valuable insight into this challenging topic and will appropriately recall the legacy of Sen. Couric’s life that was cut short by this disease.

The Emily Couric Lecture is held annually in association with the ACG Annual Meeting. It is co-sponsored by the Virginia Gastroenterological Society and the Old Dominion Society of Gastrointestinal Nurses and Associates.
